Based on those two choices, I would strongly recommend Latin since it will be easier for you to remember due to your previous experience learning Spanish.

Subject: [Menvi-discuss] German Resources

Hello,

My theory teacher has recommended to everyone in my class that we take
either some German or Latin classes in college, even if we are
instrumentalists, to understand some of the musical terms better.  I'd
love to learn German, and while I'm up to the challenge of learning a
new language because it interests me, I'm a little nervous about just
starting in college.  My foreign language classes up to this point
have always been in Spanish, and I know that the two languages are
extremely different from each other.  I was wondering if anyone would
know of some good resources I could use to start teaching myself some
basics before I start college next year.  I figure that even if it's
only a little, anything I can learn will help me in the long run, so
any and every idea will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
