I have a copy of "PRINT MUSIC SYMBOLS
IN TACTILE GRAPHICS" by Lois Krantz, that I bought for $5 at an NBA conference
several years ago. It's in thermoform, so you might contact the NBA to see
if they can supply more copies.

If you can't get a copy from them, I'm
happy to loan my copy out to anyone who can use it (and return it).

I loved Betty Downing's descriptions--thanks Winy
for posting the question and Betty for answering. The descriptions of half and
whole rests were especially helpful for me. They are easily confused by
beginning music readers.

As for chords: the notes are arranged and aligned
vertically--I tell my students it looks like they're stacked on top of each
other. If the notes of a chord are very close together--in intervals of
seconds, for instance, or when written on leger lines or spaces--they may be
offset a bit so they don't just blend into this big indistinguishable
blob.
