Thanks so much for that advice. I will be sure that someone is present int eh house before I set this student up for a lesson. I will feel safer if someone is here.

I agree. I like the idea of closing the doors to restrict access.

I agree with Bettie. Whenever a stranger comes to your home for the
first time, a friend or family member should be there to help you. After
the stranger leaves, ask your helper to alert you to anything unusual about
  the stranger's behavior or appearance.

It's also wise to limit the stranger's access by closing the doors to other
parts of the house such as the bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen.

I greatly enjoy meeting strangers, but I also realize that we live in a
dangerous world and that the Lord expects us to exercise good common sense.

come in to your home whenyou are alone. I see nothing with this really
because this person seemed very pleasant ont eh phone and very intent on
learning the piano. He is 66 and he says that in ten years he wants to be
accomplished. I suppose the first couple of times I should have someone here
but after that I should be able to be on my own. I can't always count on
people being ehre. I suppose I should only be teaching women and children?
How do you people handle this? In this crazy world I guess we can't be to
careful but there is a difference in being careful and being paranoyed.
